Hello and welcome to "Mac's Art".
My Name is Larry Grenier. I was given the name "Mac" several years ago by my oldest Grandchild and it stuck. I've always been interested in creating my own art and after viewing many, many online tutorials and other resources I took the plunge after retiring 7/22. I am very aware that my paintings are not too good yet but that's OK; I create art mostly for my own enjoyment. I started with acrylic and became fasinated with watercolor. Most of my work is watercolor with a little acrylic where I think it works well.
Special thanks to some of my favorite Artist's I've learned from and in some cases, followed their tutorials. Be sure to search theit name on the net. As cheesy as it sounds, I feel like they are my friends.

In particular, and in no particular order (they can be found on the internet, YouTube):
Art by Paul Clark (UK) - Wonderful painter, teacher, and author. Online courses and workshops in Sussex.
The Mind of Watercolor, (USA), Steve Mitchell - This guy often starts with what looks like random (and it is, sorta) splotches and brushstrokes and ends-out with a "work of art". You'll eventually understand what he means by "Mind of Watercolor".
Smoothie77 (UK) - Graphite, watercolor, both combined. Great artist and almost great teacher (when he's not zoning-out :-) ) I particularly love what he does with graphite pencils, but his watercolor skills are fantastic as-well.
Peter Sheeler (Canada) - Pen, Pencil and watercolor tutorials. This guy can do amazing things with just a little paint or ink and 20 minutes.
Anna Bucciarelli (Canada) - Watercolor. She will make you realize why watercolor is so magical. Her use of wet-on-wet and layering are fantastic. And a side note: Watching her videos reminds me of watching Bob Ross way-back with her soothing voice. .
Grant Fuller (Canada) Wonderful teacher & painter. His videos can still be found as-of this writing. RIP Grant, you are missed.
Wildlife in Watercolor by Paul Hopkinson (UK) - Detailed watercolor artist. Wow! Details some think can't be done with watercolor. Don't be intimidated, you'll learn something.
Charles Evans (UK) - Really fun and enlightening to watch. Watercolor & acrylic.
NAMIL Art (Korea) - Doesn't have alot to say but he illustrates his process great. You need to know basically what you're doing but his process is great to watch.
Lisel's Artistic Studio (USA) - Great, fun watercolor work. Wonderful explanations of what she is doing stepwise. Great source of florals and other subjects.
More to come...
